What To Wear To The Golf Course: Perfect Costume

It is well worth your time to know the rules of your club before you even load your clubs to avoid either appearing stupid or being turned away for having on inappropriate clothing. For the public courses, the dress codes are normally a little more easygoing.

In the old days, the uniform of the golfer was inflexible and prickly wool, year round, with tremendously less breath ability and ease of movement. And, back then, it was even worse for the few women that played the game; it was mandatory for them to wear full skirts, blouses right up to their chins and big hats. No wonder golf took so long to become popular among the normal people! Now, there are enhanced materials, with improved breath ability and comfort. Closer cut clothing permits for enhanced range of movement, and improved overall swing.

Golf could be expensive enough without adding the clothing into the mix. Do not get caught up in dressing a particular way if it is in fact not necessary to do so. If there is not a law in club compelling you to do so, do not feel compelled to buy many "golf pants" or other relevant outfits. Pay attention to the other golfers and get a normal idea of what everybody is wearing. This will give you an idea of what is acceptable and standard at this golf course. Wear the clothing that fits your body, your budget and your personal preferences. Keep in mind numerous things though:

1) Cotton is one of the most excellent materials for summer month play. It is breathable, soft and will protect against chafing, even as allowing for sweat evaporation.

2) Lighter colors reflect more of the sun's light, thus keeping you cooler too.

3) If you can pay for it, there are tops which are treating to block the sun's rays and also to put off flying pests.

4) Remember also: too tight and you will not be calm, and risk skin breakdown. Too loose and you could obstruct your own play.

Dress in what looks good, fits well and makes you feel like a golfer.
