Breaking The Smoking Cigarettes Habit - What Is A Study In Smoking Control
This is a report on the methods to set your mind to the place so that you make a very informed choice to stop smoking. This is really a decision that if you think about what you are doing it just does not make any sense to continue with your habit at all. By preparing a plan and following it and by knowing what you are going to get as a reward for quitting this habit you will inspire hope yourself and remind yourself even when you are tempted that the goal is so much more for breaking the habit than to carry on with behavior that is costing you dearly both financially and health wise.
I never thought I would be able to stop my smoking habit. It seemed like I was always waiting until the pressure in my life was at a minimum to begin to stop and of course that just never seemed to happen. I used my smoking as a stress reliever and I just didn't know what to substitute it with. I was nervous of gaining weight and it seemed like every time I stopped smoking or even attempted smoking control, I replaced my smoking with eating and as soon as I saw a weight increase over five pound I was once again smoking.
It was not simple but I started some smoking control by replacing additional activities and habits for times when I would usually smoke. When I decided that I had to break the smoking habit I started with a list of pros and cons for my judgment to smoke or to quit. Otherwise what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to maintaining my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking habit makes the decision to maintain one you cant really justify in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you get pleasure from.
After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted each day to see my motivation for changing my behavior this aided considerably since quitting smoking is a decision one has to establish everyday. If you stop smoking you have to count on there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I slipped and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
Once I saw the bathroom scales go up I made sure to go to the gym more and not to rearrange eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with something I normally would not do for myself. In the event that I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette use always goes down. I can not say that I do not think about smoking from time to time and more than likely always will but I also tell myself that what you save is both health and money. Your clothes do not stink of smoke your hair does not reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the cash you would have used for punching cigarettes into a bank account and watch it add up.
